For the past two years I have been receiving a "Deep Tissue Massage" from Roz. I am a big man stretching and flexing my arms legs and finger and toes with such ease I am still amazed. Starting at the head and working to the toes, applying an ample amount of warm oil with the vigorous rubbing generating heat that I can feel in my deepest muscles.
I live an hour away from her massage studio and I thought I could find someone closer that can give me the same results but after a few attempts no one was able to give me the satisfaction, when I leave I am relaxed, refreshed and the results stay with me a long time. Thank you for your superior work it makes the drive worth every bit of it.

I just wanted to say thank you. This was definitely one of the best treatments I have ever received. The masseuse was very knowledgeable, professional and on point with every aspect of all the treatments that I purchased. I have already referred this establishment to several friends and coworkers.
Thank you again and can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks.

I'm a 65 yr. old woman in relatively good health and have exercised most of my adult life. I took 2 1/2 yrs. off of exercise recently due to an extremely stressful job, and also ate lots of junk and gained 15 lbs. I then felt awful having constant back pain. Now I'm exercising again and eating healthy, working diligently to get back in shape.
There are 3 women in my life I'd like to thank. My doctor, who told me to keep exercising (focusing on stretching) and to read a book she had "End Everyday Pain for 50+", then come back in 3 months. She would not give me any prescription pills which I did not want anyway.
My yoga instructor has been extremely instrumental in helping me understand proper technique for poses and the reasoning behind each one.
My massage therapist, Rosie, has helped me tremendously to understand my body and how everything is related.
All the muscles eventually connect back to the spine and stretching all muscles is critical for my improvement. I've gone to Rosie for 6 sessions of deep tissue massage and this, combined with yoga, knowledge, supplements, and other physical activities, I'm finally starting to get relief and know that I'm on the road back to a healthy, active retirement!
I just want all 'seniors' to know that you can't stop exercising in your 60's, and that deep tissue massage from someone as knowledgeable and experienced as Rosie is worth every penny and then some!!! Exercise and massage is now my job for life!!!

What should I expect during my first massage therapy visit?
You will begin with a brief health history where you tell your massage therapist any medications you are on, surgeries, allergies and any health concerns or concerns please let them know.
What is massage?
Massage is soft tissue manipulation on muscles, ligaments, tendons, connective tissue and skin focused on improving and aligning the myoskeletal framework of the human body using various techniques. They may use their hands or entire body, with or without essential oils, herbs, lotions and cream and various tools and equipment to aid their practice. Massage looks at improving the entire body on an holistic approach. It uses some forms of teaching from the West and Asian teachings dating back to 5000 years using various pressure and movement.
What are the different types of massage treatments that I can receive?
Massage types or modalities include Deep Tissue, Swedish, Sports Massage, Thai Massage, Trigger Pointing, Indian Ayurvedic, Hot Stones or Hot Rock Therapy, Myoskeletal Release, Craniosacral Massage, Baby Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Post and Pre-surgery Massage, Japanese Shiatsu, Ashiatsu, Back Walking, Aromatherapy, Acupressure, Cupping, Warm Candle Massage, Fiji Massage, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Bamboo Massage, Shower Massage, Mud Massage, Raindrop Massage, Fascia Blasting, Hydrotherapy Massage, Cryotherapy, Reflexology and many more. Some massage therapists are also trained in Reiki, Vibrational Sound Therapy, Shamanic Healing and other forms of spiritual healing.
What's the difference between massage therapy and bodywork?
They both focus on improving clients' health by manipulating soft tissue to promote healing but bodywork professionals focus on relieving pain and massage therapy focuses on achieving relaxation and reducing stress and they can also focus on pain relief.
How is physical therapy different from a massage?
One of the goals of massage is to relax the nervous system through soft tissue manipulation. If muscles are not firing properly a massage is ideal to soften the muscles and restore functionality. A physical therapist may or may not use massage. Depending on the underlying cause of muscle tightness they may utilize various range of motion on specific joints which may relax the muscle and the patient may not need massage. However, massage works on the whole body taking a holistic approach and that benefits just about everybody as calming the nerves in the central nervous system of the brain and spinal chord is always greatly rewarded. After 15 minutes of massage, you will feel relaxed; there is increased circulation of blood and lymph flow throughout the body and the brain gets its vital oxygen and nutrient supply.
What's the difference between a chiropractor and massage therapy?
Chiropractors typical work on bones, ligaments and tendons and some do work on muscles applying some massage therapy but some incorporate the services of a massage therapist in their clinic. Chiropractic care can include x-rays and referrals to massage therapists and increasingly most chiropractors are utilizing the services of a massage therapist seeing the benefits of a combined treatment whether chiropractic treatment, physical therapy or massage therapy all have their benefits and it is good to use a combination. Sports teams, olympic athletes and football teams use a combination with sports massage. The real difference is in the quality of work performed by individual therapist as every act of service is different and the healing is reflected in the state of health and mind of the person receiving and giving the therapy. In Asian healing teachings the giver is supposed to be healthier than the receiver because there is an exchange of energy. The receiver is absorbing the good energy from the giver and parting with their bad energy to the giver so those are some clues to choosing your health professional. If one individual does not work for you, try somebody else or give it another chance.
